Executive Director Alicia Bousner Hrubey has joined the Ohio Music Therapy Task Force, a group of music therapy professionals advocating for state licensure in Ohio. Recognizing the music therapy profession and its providers through licensure represents a significant step in advancing the field, and includes benefits such as (1) increased access to music therapy services for clients and families in need and (2) public protection from misrepresentation and harm by those who claim to be practicing ‘music therapy’ when they are not.
