Group Music Therapy

In Harmony Therapeutic Services offers customized group services both in-person and virtually through secure HIPAA compliant platforms. Led by board certified music therapists, weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions range from 45- to 60-minute options with emphasis on building rapport and relationships, community engagement, group cohesion, and the skills to develop social harmony.

Group music therapy services target non-musical outcomes such as, but not limited to:

  • Improved group cohesion (e.g., tolerance of differences, working together on a  group goal)
  • Improved self-regulation (e.g., appropriate waiting, slowing
  • Improved social skills (e.g., turn-taking, joint attention, conversations, tolerance of others, etc.)

IEP Music Therapy Services

In Harmony Therapeutic Services offers music therapy services for individuals in school-based settings. Music therapy can be provided on an individual and/or group basis or can be included as part of an individual student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

School-based music therapy supports:

  • Increased academic learning and skill development (e.g., literacy and math concepts, daily living routines and skills)
  • Improved receptive and expressive communication (e.g., greetings, conversations)

Music Enrichment Residencies

In Harmony Therapeutic Services is excited to offer accessible, engaging, and arts integrated residencies, offered both in person and virtually through secure HIPPA compliant platforms. Designed to align with Ohio’s literacy, mathematic, and social emotional content standards for grades bands K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, programming addresses the learning gaps in literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional learning (SEL) that many students are facing and will continue to face as a result of this virtual learning period. 

  • My Social Emotional Self– a SEL-based program available for grades K-8
  • Rock n’ Read– a literacy-based program available for grades K-2
  • Sticks! Building Math and Music Connections with Rhythm and Beat– a mathematics-based program available for grades K-2 
  • Music Speaks: Songs and Stories with a Beat– a literacy-based program using various musical genres to discuss literary devices and storytelling available for grades K-8

In Harmony Therapeutic Services offers consultative services for school districts, agencies, organizations, interested in learning more about the benefits of arts integration using a trauma-informed, therapeutic lens. Among the services provided as part of a consultation, you can expect to gain knowledge in:
