The Calvin and Angeline Bousner Memorial Fund

Calvin and Angeline Bousner

The Calvin and Angeline Bousner Memorial Fund is a restricted account established in the memory of Calvin and Angeline Bousner. Ange was a school teacher and gifted musician. She frequently used music (including original compositions) to teach children academic concepts. She placed tremendous value on the power of music to impact children’s lives. Calvin worked for 32 years as a steel burner. He was a man who would do anything to help his family and make their dreams come true. For Ange, Calvin bought an organ so she could play music in their home. For his granddaughter Alicia, the founder of In Harmony Therapeutic Services, Calvin and Ange purchased her first piano.

Calvin and Ange were married for almost 60 years prior to Ange’s passing in 2009. Calvin passed away in 2018 on the same day In Harmony Therapeutic Services, for which Calvin provided an initial financial investment, was granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. The In Harmony Board of Directors subsequently approved a proposal to use the money provided by Calvin as a memorial fund in his and Ange’s names.

Proceeds from the Bousner Memorial Fund may be used for any purpose that results in one or more individuals having improved access to music therapy or music enrichment programming. Examples may include, but are not limited to scholarships, fulfilling required matches for grants received, or paying the stipend of a music therapy intern.
