Thanks to the generous support of the Medical Mutual of Ohio Charitable Foundation, In Harmony Therapeutic Services and Women’s Recovery Center have partnered to provide music therapy services to the women and families currently receiving services at the center. Sessions feature musical interventions such as lyric analysis to promote group discussion and group processing of emotions and experiences, songwriting to promote collective creativity, and music-making to encourage family attachment and relationship building.
Ashley Yassall, Executive Director of Women’s Recovery Center said, “Our clients enjoy working with In Harmony and love the use of music therapy in group treatment. The mommy and me group provides a great opportunity for moms to bond with children when their relationships have often been affected by substance use disorder. We love In Harmony and we are honored to be a partner of theirs!”
