In Harmony Therapeutic Services is proud to offer adapted music lessons for individuals 5 years and older in voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. Children under 5 can be assessed for adapted music lessons to determine appropriateness of service. Within adapted music lessons, adaptive strategies and/or technology is used to help individuals find success in accessing musical instruments that may not be possible with traditional music lessons.
Adapted music lessons are structured similarly to music therapy sessions. However, in adapted music lessons, musical goals are being addressed.
Adapted music lessons are offered in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions. Services feature an intake and assessment process, and well as collaboration with guiding adults on determining the musical goals addressed in sessions.
Registration and Intake
Individuals seeking music therapy services (either for themselves or as part of a referral) must complete both a registration form and intake form. These forms will be provided by In Harmony Therapeutic Services staff.
Assessment
Any client referred to adapted music lessons through our intake and registration process must complete an individual assessment conducted by the MT-BC. Upon receipt and review of the intake registration forms, and assessment will be scheduled.
